As CEO, Wayne Staudt, CPA, CA will provide management support to KHLP’s Operating Businesses and will oversee KHLP’s investments and business activities. Wayne has been a Chartered Professional Accountant for over 40 years and brings a wealth of senior financial and business management knowledge to KEL from his previous senior management positions with the City of Cranbrook, KPMG, and Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries.
Kevin Weaver, MSc, RPF
Director of Business Development
Kevin is responsible for analyzing, developing and implementing an overarching business development plan for KEL and our business units. Kevin is a Registered Professional Forester and holds a Master of Science degree specializing in forest genetics. In his spare time, he enjoys wood carving and is a certified carving instructor. Kevin is also an active runner, mountain biker and vegetable gardener (even though he’s not very fond of eating vegetables).
Heather Burrows, MBA
Business Manager
Heather was one of the founding KEL employees, and a recent MBA graduate. As a part of a small team, Heather manages and supports a range of activities including corporate planning and reporting, communications and public relations, corporate social responsibility KPIs, and general administration. In addition, Heather provides strategic HR support to KEL and Business Units. Outside of work, Heather's priorities are spending time with her family and rock climbing with friends.
Mariia Kubrak
Finance Manager
As Finance Manager, Mariia provides financial oversight to KEL as well as our Business Units. With over 5 year's of Senior Financial management, Mariia contributes to the level of professionalism to the team. Mariia is originally from the Ukraine, but moved to Canada for work in 2022.
Tracey Tarasoff
Accounting Technician
Tracey provides financial support to the Director of Finance and also runs her own small business.

Aaron Higgs, BSC
President - Nupqu
Aaron provides support, direction and oversight to core management staff in Finance, Operations, Health and Safety, Human Resources and Business Development in his role as president of Nupqu. Before joining Nupqu, Aaron spent 12 years as a Project Manager and Geologist in the mineral exploration industry.
