Hennie Tait, MBA
As CEO, Hennie is responsible for overseeing operations of KEL. A qualified business leader, Hennie works closely with staff to manage corporate governance, increase efficiencies across operations while seeking out opportunities to build and develop KEL’s operations and those of its associated companies. Hennie is originally from Port Elizabeth in South Africa.
Mirella Baillie, CPA-CGA-BMGT
Director of Finance
Recognized among the best tax and accountancy practitioners in the region, Mirella previously worked for KPMG, the CRA as a Federal Tax Auditor, as well as numerous other senior finance positions in Chicago. Mirella is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of KEL and all group companies. Mirella was born and raised in Cranbrook.
Kevin Weaver, MSc, RPF
Director of Business Development
Kevin is responsible for analyzing, developing and implementing an overarching business development plan for KEL and our business units. Kevin is a Registered Professional Forester and holds a Master of Science degree specializing in forest genetics. In his spare time, he enjoys wood carving and is a certified carving instructor. Kevin is also an active runner, mountain biker and vegetable gardener (even though he’s not very fond of eating vegetables).
Dalicia Reeser, BMGT
As Ktunaxa Enterprise Limited’s Executive Assistant, Dalicia provides administration for KEL and KEL's collaborative and supportive team environment. She has previously worked as a marketing researcher in Budapest, and holds a private pilot license. Dalicia was born and raised in Boston, and has also lived in Prince Edward Island before moving to the Rockies.
Heather Burrows, MBA
Director of Strategic HR (On Leave)
Heather was among the first KEL employees, and a recent MBA graduate. She focuses on strategic HR for KEL and business units as well as managing our communication plan. Outside of work, Heather's priorities are spending time with her family and rock climbing with friends.
Aaron Higgs, BSC
President - Nupqu
Aaron provides support, direction and oversight to core management staff in Finance, Operations, Health and Safety, Human Resources and Business Development in his role as president of Nupqu. Before joining Nupqu, Aaron spent 12 years as a Project Manager and Geologist in the mineral exploration industry.
